On may 26, the legal Department of the Confederation Europeenne de Volleyball (CEV) received a decision from the CEV regarding the claim of ex-Dynamo player Maya Ognenovich against our club, which was filed in the fall of 2019. CEV sent the decision to our club, to Ognjenovic and address Russian volleyball Federation. In decision, the CEV found that the athlete was not entitled to the amounts of payments that she requested in her lawsuit, due to the fact that she fulfilled her contractual obligations with violations. The decision taken by the CEV confirms the fact that Dynamo acted in full compliance with the accepted rules and regulations in relation to the player.
The arbitration decision provides for the obligation of Dynamo to make a small additional payment under Ognenovich's contract (about 10% of the amount she requested). Due to the fact that Ognenovich's claims were mostly rejected, the CEV ordered the player to compensate the club "Dynamo" (Moscow) for most of the legal expenses incurred during the process.
We sincerely thank our lawyer, Mr. Giovanni Fontana, for the painstaking work done. In the next few days, we will agree with him whether Dynamo should continue this legal dispute further. For our part, we would like all participants in the dispute to show a desire to continue their interaction related to volleyball on volleyball courts, rather than in courtrooms.
