The volleyball players of Dynamo Moscow will take part in the preliminary stage of the Russian Cup, which will be held from September 14 to 18 in Kaliningrad. Our team will meet with the local "Locomotive" and "Locomotive-2", with the St. Petersburg "Leningradka" and the Moscow region "Zarechye Odintsovo".
In Kaliningrad, Dynamo will have 14 players in the squad. Only Elitsa Vasileva, who will fly to Russia this week, will not play. Our team will meet in full, including Vasilyeva, upon returning from Kaliningrad.
According to the regulations on the Russian Cup-2021, the number of teams from each zone (group) goes to the semifinal stage, equal to the number of teams that are in the top 12 ranked teams according to the results of the Russian Championship-2020/21. Teams with three or more players of the Russian national team who participated in the events of the national team in 2021 (the Olympic Games and the European Championship), go to the semifinals regardless of the result.
Thus, our team automatically goes to the semifinal stage. Three Dinamo volleyball players Ekaterina Enina, Irina Fetisova and Natalia Goncharova played as part of the Russian national team at the Tokyo Olympics, Enina also competed at the European Championship.
